Deanna’s Energizing Chocolate Almond Bites

These naturally sweet, protein-rich bites make a nourishing grab-and-go snack for busy midlife women who want steady energy without the afternoon crash.
If your go-to snack doesn't contain protein, it is probably high in sugar and hydrogenated oils which can spike your insulin levels. 🍫 These healthy treats combine healthy fats, fibre, and protein to help keep you feeling more satisfied between meals, while also supporting more balanced blood sugar which leads to fewer cravings.
With the comfort of cocoa and the goodness of almond butter, oats, and hemp hearts, they’re a simple way to give your body something grounding, delicious, and easy to digest.
Ingredients:
1 cup softened Medjool dates (pitted and soaked in warm water for 10 minutes if needed)
1 cup natural almond butter
1 cup rolled oats, pulsed in a food processor for a finer texture
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
4 tablespoons hemp hearts
2 tablespoons mini dark chocolate chips (optional)
¼ teaspoon sea salt
Instructions:
In a food processor, combine softened dates and almond butter until smooth and well blended.
Add pulsed oats, cocoa powder, hemp hearts, sea salt, and chocolate chips if using.
Pulse until the mixture forms a sticky dough. If too dry, add a spoonful of warm water or extra almond butter; if too wet, add a bit more oats.
Roll into 1-inch balls and place on a parchment-lined tray.
Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 10 days.
Makes: 18–20 bites
Tip: You can roll them in extra hemp seeds or shredded coconut for an added boost!
