It can be hard to know what to snack on when you are standing in the grocery store aisle, trying to make a choice that actually supports your body. Many packaged snacks are full of sugar and seed oils, which can affect blood sugar and leave you feeling off later.

These hormone-supportive bites offer a creamy texture and gentle sweetness, with maca root to support energy and mood. The addition of healthy fats and protein are what round out the health balance of these bites.

They are a lovely option for women who want something nourishing, satisfying, and easy to keep on hand during busy days.

Ingredients:

1 cup softened Medjool dates (pitted and soaked if needed)

1 cup raw cashew butter

1 cup unsweetened shredded coconut (plus extra for rolling)

2 tablespoons maca powder

1 tablespoon chia seeds

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch of sea salt

Optional: Add a couple scoops of your favourite protein powder to support glucagon production.

Instructions:

In a food processor, blend dates and cashew butter until smooth.

Add shredded coconut, maca powder, chia seeds, vanilla, and sea salt. Pulse until everything is well incorporated and sticky.

Roll into bite-sized balls and coat in extra shredded coconut if desired.

Chill for 30 minutes and store in the fridge for up to 10 days.

Makes: 18–20 bites
